We are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join one of our key clients in Fareham. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well‑established and highly respected organisation, joining a collaborative on‑site procurement team of four.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded Buyer with a strong engineering or manufacturing background, looking to play a key role in developing a high‑performing supply chain.
Key Responsibilities- End‑to‑end purchasing of raw materials, mechanical components, and subcontract services
- Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers, including performance evaluation
- Negotiating pricing and contracts to meet cost and budget targets
- Managing supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery metrics
- Raising and managing purchase and subcontract work orders
- Collaborating with internal teams to support production and new product development
- Building and maintaining strong, long‑term supplier relationships
- Proven experience as a Buyer within manufacturing or engineering
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of materials, machining, and surface treatments (metals preferred)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- CIPS/APICS qualification (or working towards) desirable
- Aerospace sector experience advantageous
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and solutions‑focused
- Salary up to £45,000
