Our client, a well-established and growing business supporting the automotive sector, is looking for a hands-on and enthusiastic Transport Administrator to join their busy operations team in Blackburn. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in transport, logistics, supply chain or warehouse administration who is looking to develop their career within a successful and supportive organisation.
The Role
Working closely with the Production, Warehouse, Sales and Finance teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring customer orders are delivered efficiently while providing first-class operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end distribution of customer orders.
- Liaise with Production to ensure product availability and delivery targets are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with transport providers, monitoring service performance.
- Support warehouse planning and allocate daily workload to warehouse staff.
- Prepare transport documentation, including export paperwork for European shipments.
- Coordinate goods-in activities, including receipting stock and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Manage contractor inductions, PPE requirements and work permits.
- Reconcile transport invoices and resolve discrepancies alongside the Finance team.
- Deliver excellent customer service via telephone and email.
- Provide administrative support across transport, warehouse and production operations.
- Maintain accurate data, reports, inventory records and supplier information.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation and can confidently manage multiple priorities. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehouse Administration.
- Experience with European export documentation would be advantageous but isn't essential.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
- High attention to detail, particularly when handling documentation and invoices.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- A positive, proactive attitude with the drive and enthusiasm to make a real difference.
Candidates with experience as a Transport Administrator, Logistics Administrator, Transport Clerk, Exports Administrator, Distribution Administrator, Supply Chain Administrator or similar are encouraged to apply.
