They are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring surveying professional to develop their career with a respected contractor that invests heavily in employee development, training and progression.

The Role:

  • Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you will support the commercial delivery of a range of construction projects from inception through to final account.
  • Key responsibilities will include:
    • Assisting with cost planning and budget management
    • Preparing subcontractor enquiries and procurement packages
    • Valuing subcontractor applications and managing payments
    • Supporting the preparation of valuations, forecasts and cost reports
    • Assisting with change control and variations management
    • Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
    • Supporting the agreement of final accounts
    • Maintaining accurate project records and documentation

The Candidate:

  • Degree, HNC/HND or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Previous experience within a construction or commercial environment (placement year experience considered)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a commercial role
  • A proactive and team-focused approach.
