Are you an experienced Scientist with a strong background in filtration, laboratory testing or regulated environments such as pharmaceutical or life sciences? Do you enjoy being the go-to technical expert supporting customers, developing new products and solving complex problems? We’re supporting a specialist engineering and manufacturing business in New Milton who are looking to recruit a Senior Scientist to join their Technical team.

What’s the role all about? This is a hands-on, senior-level role where you’ll act as a key technical expert across the business. You’ll be responsible for providing technical support to customers and internal teams, leading product development activities and ensuring products meet strict regulatory and performance standards. You’ll also play a key role in customer engagement, validation, testing and problem resolution, making this a highly varied and influential position.

Key responsibilities
  • Act as a technical expert and main point of contact for customer and internal queries
  • Identify and develop new product opportunities and solutions
  • Lead prototype development, testing and material evaluation
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
  • Provide technical support across production, quality and commercial teams
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues, complaints and returns
  • Compile detailed technical reports, test results and recommendations
  • Develop validation documentation, test methods and quality procedures
  • Evaluate customer requirements and recommend appropriate filtration solutions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts
  • Deliver technical training to customers and internal teams
  • Assess supplier data and ensure all product claims are accurate and compliant
What you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Strong experience within a laboratory or scientific environment
  • Experience working in regulated industries (pharmaceutical, medical, food or similar)
  • Knowledge of filtration products and techniques
  • Experience working to GMP / FDA standards
  • Strong understanding of cleanroom environments (Class 8 or higher)
  • Experience producing technical documentation and validation reports
  • Strong problem-solving skills (8D, Six Sigma or similar)
Desirable
  • MSc or PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Experience within the filtration industry
  • Knowledge of microbiological techniques and environmental monitoring
  • Experience presenting at seminars or conferences
  • Experience running testing at customer sites
  • Experience auditing suppliers
