A leading Tier 1 construction contractor is seeking an experienced M & E Manager / Building Services Manager to join its growing team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile, technically complex construction projects across the North West, taking responsibility for the delivery and coordination of mechanical and electrical building services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
The Role
Working closely with the Project Director, Construction Manager and wider project team, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of all M & E and building services elements across major construction schemes. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the design, coordination and delivery of mechanical and electrical services.
- Reviewing technical designs, specifications and installation proposals.
- Coordinating M & E subcontractors and specialist supply chain partners.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Driving procurement, programme and commissioning activities.
- Working closely with design, commercial and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identifying and resolving technical and coordination challenges.
- Managing quality assurance, testing, commissioning and final handover.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, standards and project requirements.
- Supporting the successful delivery of complex, high-value construction projects.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as an M & E Manager, Building Services Manager or similar within a main contracting environment.
- Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical and building services systems.
- Experience delivering complex commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, education or other major construction projects.
- Excellent coordination, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery.
