THE OPPORTUNITY
Experienced Training Manager wanted for a leading manufacturing
company in Petersfield.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Training
Manager to take ownership of the site's training and capability
function, while leading a team of 4 across specialist training
divisions.
You'll play a key role in developing the site's people
capability, ensuring employees have the skills, knowledge and
competencies required to deliver safe, high-quality and efficient
manufacturing operations.
Working closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, EHS and
HR, you'll have the opportunity to shape the training strategy,
develop your team and make a genuine impact on workforce
capability.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Training Manager, you'll be responsible for the strategic
direction, leadership and delivery of training across the site.
You'll manage 4 specialist divisions, providing leadership,
direction and development across each area while ensuring a
consistent approach to training, competency and capability.
You'll identify current and future skills gaps, develop
competency frameworks and learning programmes, and ensure
training supports both operational and business objectives.
You'll also take ownership of the site's Learning Management
System, training compliance, competency records and audit
readiness.
This is a role that combines people leadership, strategy and
hands-on operational involvement.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
* Lead, manage and develop 4 specialist training divisions
* Develop and implement the site's overall training and
capability strategy
* Provide clear direction, coaching and support to the teams
across each specialist division
* Identify current and future capability gaps through Training
Needs Analysis
* Develop competency frameworks, skills matrices and structured
learning pathways
* Create and manage annual training and development plans
* Oversee classroom, digital, on-the-job, coaching and blended
learning
* Ensure training content remains accurate, engaging and aligned
with operational requirements
* Manage training compliance across GMP, Quality, Health & Safety
and regulatory requirements
* Own and manage the site's Learning Management System (LMS)
* Maintain training records, competency frameworks and training
matrices
* Ensure the site remains audit-ready
* Produce reporting and dashboards covering training compliance,
capability and effectiveness
* Develop managers, supervisors, trainers and operational leaders
* Build strong relationships across Operations, Quality,
Engineering, EHS and HR
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the training
function
* Support wider Operational Excellence, transformation and
digitalisation projects
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
We're looking for an experienced Training Manager with a strong
manufacturing background and proven leadership experience.
You'll ideally have:
* Around 5 years' experience in Training, L&D, Capability or
Operational Excellence within manufacturing
* 3+ years' leadership experience
* Experience managing teams and developing people across multiple
functions or specialist areas
* Experience working within a regulated / GMP manufacturing
environment
* CIPD Level 5 L&D or equivalent
* Train-the-Trainer qualification
* Strong understanding of adult learning and instructional design
* Experience developing competency frameworks and learning
pathways
* Strong Training Needs Analysis experience
* Knowledge of GMP, Quality, Health & Safety and regulatory
requirements
* Strong LMS experience
* Experience managing training matrices and competency records
* Confidence using data to measure training compliance and
effectiveness
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
* Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement capability
Cornerstone LMS experience would be particularly beneficial.

environment and able to balance strategic leadership with a
hands-on approach.
Experience or qualifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma,
IOSH, Project Management or Leadership & Management would be
advantageous.
