To strengthen our team, we are recruiting for a Support Worker. This is your chance to join a team of dedicated social care professionals, shaping the experience of the people we support every day.

We support the individuals we work with to manage or overcome challenges, including age-related issues, alcohol and drug addictions, autism spectrum disorders, complex needs, homelessness, learning disabilities and mental health issues. The needs of some of our supported individuals can include but is not limited to; support with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, personal care or a combination of these.

The Role

x

As a Support Worker, you will:

x

  • Communicate and engage with the individuals we support in a caring and respectful manner, providing communication support when required.
  • Enable the individuals we support to access and engage in educational, leisure and social activities.
  • Assist with the production and maintenance of support plans and with recording changes in the lives of the individuals we support.
  • Assess risks and work with the individuals we support to enable them to live safely at home.
  • Provide support with health-related needs, including administering medication and enabling the individuals we support to attend appointments.

About You

x

We are looking for someone who:

x

  • Qualification in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards this
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with the individuals we support, our staff and our stakeholders.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to support individuals with a range of support needs in a person- centred, respectful and understanding way.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting diversity.
  • Experience or interest in supporting individuals to value themselves and others, overcome challenges and realise dreams.
  • Very good communication and social skills.
