You will be part of the Candy Gameplay Analytics team and work closely with other data scientists and analysts.

Your role within the Kingdom

  • Strong product and live ops expertise – understand core game mechanics, PvP/tournaments, reward economies, engagement loops, and live operations dynamics.
  • Strategic advisor and opportunity shaper – identify structural growth opportunities across tentpoles by analysing player behaviour, performance patterns, and portfolio gaps; proactively surface and prioritise areas by incremental impact potential; support roadmap discussions with quantified trade-offs, scenario modelling, and clear opportunity sizing.
  • Discovery support and experience co-designer – embed from the earliest discovery phase to validate hypotheses with behavioural data, segmentation insights, and rapid learning loops; co-design mechanics, meta structures, and engagement loops with Product and Marketing.
  • End-to-end experimentation leader – define measurement frameworks and north-star KPIs; design and run A/B tests and experiments for complex scenarios (e.g., blackouts, restarts, staggered rollouts); ensure results are statistically sound and translated into concrete actions.
  • Economy and reward design capability – quantify optimal reward structures, monetisation loops, and player value trade-offs to balance engagement, fairness, and commercial outcomes.
  • Performance, forecasting, and holistic measurement – build impact forecasts and full-funnel performance evaluations (participation, retention, monetisation, acquisition); partner with Consumer Marketing Analytics to produce consolidated reporting that aligns in-game and out-of-game performance under a shared measurement framework.
  • Autonomous and embedded partner – fully dedicated to the team’s roadmap; own analytics strategy for major tentpoles (e.g., All Stars) while operating seamlessly across functions.

Skills to create thrills

  • Product and live ops mastery across PvP/tournaments, tentpoles, and meta progression systems.
  • Experimentation leadership – set high standards for experimentation and measurement, ensuring robust insights that inform product strategy.
  • System-level thinking – understand and optimise complex product systems and economies to balance user experience and business performance.
  • Strategic forecasting and causality – anticipate trends and quantify impact using advanced analytical approaches to guide long-term decisions.
  • Communication and influence – crisp storytelling for senior stakeholders; ability to turn complex numerical analysis into clear, actionable narratives.

Experience we’re looking for

  • 7+ years in product analytics or growth analytics within free-to-play games, consumer tech, or similarly fast-iterating online products.
  • Proven track record shaping live ops/tentpole strategies end-to-end: from discovery to design, launch, measurement, and iteration.
  • Advanced SQL (BigQuery or similar) and proficiency with Python or R; experience with BI/visualisation tools (e.g., Looker).
  • Strong statistics/applied experimentation background; comfortable with ambiguity and complex, multi-variate environments.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with large tournament-style events and time-limited modes at scale.
  • Familiarity with player segmentation frameworks, LTV modelling, and portfolio-level trade-off analysis.
  • Experience consolidating in-game and marketing performance into a single, aligned measurement framework.
  • Comfort working with experimentation platforms and event orchestration in live service environments.

Ways of working

  • Outcome-oriented, self-directed, and embedded: define analytics strategy, set evidence bar, and drive clarity amid ambiguity.
