Principal AI Solutions Engineer

The ACE team (AI Center of Excellence at King) is responsible for the transformation of King for the AI age and enhancing all aspects of King’s operations. We help game and supporting teams develop AI powered features and products. We provide education and forward looking applied AI research and drive King’s overall AI strategy, as well as support the development of game and internal product AI strategies.

As a response to the fast development of third party AI tools based on e.g. LLMs and generative models, we expanded AI/ML with the AI Productivity team that helps King evaluate and apply new technologies and commercial tools (COTS) that boost productivity or enable faster routes to a better player experience. We are now looking for a Principal AI Solutions Engineer to support the efforts of this team.

Your role within the Kingdom

As Principal AI Solutions Engineer, you are a hands-on technical expert and strategic integrator! Your role involves rapidly prototyping solutions, seamlessly integrating AI tools into our environment, and ensuring a high standard of reliability and performance. You will work closely with diverse teams; engineering, product, data science, leadership, external vendors and beyond – to implement AI-based productivity improvements. Crucially, this position requires someone who not only excels technically, but also autonomously navigates organizational structures, builds relationships proactively, and consistently aligns their work with the broader strategic vision.

Key responsibilities

• End-to-End Solution Delivery – Design, develop, and deliver proofs-of-concept and production-ready AI solutions. Ensure smooth integrations with existing platforms and workflows.
• Proactive Collaboration & Partner Alignment – Maintain close alignment with internal teams; game studios, Shared Tech, and support functions – by identifying needs, gathering feedback, and fostering consensus. Communicate clearly and proactively to ensure efforts align with the company’s AI strategy and productivity goals.
• Autonomous Problem-Solving – Operate with a high degree of independence, swiftly identifying issues and proposing solutions. Navigate the organization effectively to find answers, remove roadblocks, and keep initiatives moving forward without requiring constant supervision.
• Partake in team efforts – Collaborate with the AI Discovery Engineer, the AI User Experience Researcher and the rest of the team to align development and integration efforts with King\’s AI productivity and enablement strategy.
• Critical Thinking & Contextual Awareness – Understand not just the “what” and “how” of AI integration, but also the “why.” Connect day-to-day implementation details with the larger organizational strategy, ensuring that the work you do meaningfully advances King’s AI-first transformation.
• DevOps and Tooling Mastery – Employ Helm charts, Terraform, and related DevOps standard methodologies to automate deployments, operate solutions, streamline environments, and ensure reliable, scalable infrastructure for AI tools.
• Documentation and Handover – Create clear and comprehensive documentation for solutions, ensuring smooth handovers of proofs-of-concept (POC) to other teams for long-term maintenance and promoting knowledge-sharing across the organization.

Experience

Skills to Create Thrills

• Proven experience in a development-focused role, preferably within a Game development and AI-specific context.
• Proven experience with modern AI frameworks and tooling. Experience integrating LLMs (e.g., GPT-4), generative models, and Vertex AI components into complex ecosystems.
• Experience building AI agent based solutions.
• Experience with building applications on GCP, using generative models in production and with Helm, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and GCP-based infrastructure.

Knowledge And Skills

• Deep knowledge of game development processes, challenges, and support functions, particularly how AI can fit into production lifecycles, from prototyping to live operations, is highly valuable.
• Strong understanding of modern AI and its practical applications, with a proven ability to develop and integrate AI tools.
• Strong coding proficiency with the ability to architect end-to-end solutions that address real business problems. Experience with Python or similar languages common in AI workflows is highly desirable.
• Ability to design solutions from the ground up to address stated problems
• Good general understanding of development workflows, the challenges associated as well as DevOps principles and how to apply them
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen ability to fix and resolve technical issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
