Consumer Marketing - Fixed Term 12 months. This key role is integral to supporting the leadership team of Consumer Marketing at King. You will partner closely with Consumer Marketing leaders to provide financial insight, challenge, and strategic support, ensuring investments are robust, aligned, and optimised for maximum impact. Working alongside the Commercial FP&A team, you will shape forecasts, evaluate opportunities, and deliver insights that help drive stronger business outcomes across King’s marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnering: Act as a trusted finance partner to Consumer Marketing leadership, advising on commercial strategy, investment decisions, and campaign planning.
- Forecasting & Planning: Shape assumptions and lead reviews for Consumer Marketing forecasts, working in partnership with FP&A. Ensure plans reflect both ambition and sound financial discipline.
- Performance Management: Track and analyse marketing investments and performance outcomes, highlighting risks, opportunities, and areas requiring deeper analysis. Provide timely insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Budget Management: Oversee cost management across key cost areas, partnering closely with budget owners to optimise both campaign (activation) spend and BAU costs for maximum ROI and VFM. Drive financial discipline and accountability, ensuring spend is aligned to strategic priorities.
- Insight & Challenge: Translate data into clear insights, constructively challenging assumptions to improve ROI and inform decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, analytics, strategy, and FP&A teams to embed financial perspectives into decision-making forums and strategic initiatives.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Support business cases, memos, and analytical deep dives into marketing initiatives and new opportunities.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a finance business partnering role within a global, fast-paced industry (gaming, tech, or digital preferred).
- Strong commercial acumen, with understanding of marketing performance drivers and ROI frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders while building trusted relationships.
- Skilled at shaping forecasts and translating marketing strategies into robust financial outlooks.
- Highly analytical, with advanced Excel and financial modelling expertise.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Collaborative and proactive, able to work across functions to align on strategy and execution.
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., Hyperion, Forecasto) and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) an advantage.
- Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
