King & Moffatt Building Services are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the business in a stand-alone HR role, based in Wolverhampton. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to have responsibility for the operational management of the Human Resources function at King & Moffatt.

This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources across the business, providing hands-on, practical HR support within a Mechanical and Electrical contract business. The successful candidate will be confident managing employee relations matters, advising managers, and making difficult, well-judged people decisions.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all HR matters across the business.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Manage employee relations cases end-to-end, including grievances, disciplinaries, absence, and performance management.
  • Handle complex and sensitive HR issues, making balanced and confident decisions.
  • Respond to general HR queries from managers and employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee assimilation processes.
  • Manage the local Apprentice and Graduate Programmes, including enhancing relationships with third-level colleges and attending careers fairs.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Promote best practice people management within a project-based workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and EHSQ regulations.

Minimum of 12 months’ experience in a Human Resources Manager or equivalent HR managerial role. Significant experience working within a Human Resources generalist role. Strong working knowledge of employment legislation. Ability to work independently in a stand-alone HR role. Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills. Experience supporting site-based or project-driven environments. Experience advising senior management on people matters.

Given the project-based nature of the work carried out by K&M, you will be expected to work on varying sites and/or travel to varying sites across the country in the normal course of your duties.
