Job Description

The Engineering Graduate Programme is a key initiative for talent development here at King & Moffatt Building Services. This engineering‑biased programme ensures that graduates gain sufficient knowledge and experience in our industry before embarking on a direct career path within the different sectors and departments at King & Moffatt. Graduates will participate in a two‑year programme made up of four different postings, designed to provide cross‑departmental knowledge and develop skills for potential future leadership roles. Those four postings will include time working within the following areas – Operations (office & site), Design /BIM (office), EHSQ (office & site), Commercial (office & site).

What you can expect from the programme:

  • Gain an understanding of contract specifications, employer requirements and construction drawings.
  • Become familiar with the procurement process by preparing order/material requests, updating procurement trackers, contacting suppliers and understanding the importance of cost control.
  • Gain an understanding and knowledge in service schematics/P&ID for various services, including water, heating/cooling and ventilation, as well as electrical schematics for LV, MV and HV systems.
  • Learn how to size hydraulic lines and ventilation ductwork systems on a live project.
  • Use software package to create cable calculations.
  • Understand the different installation methods for electrical containment, conduits, tray, box section and ladder rack.
  • Gain an understanding of pipework differences, methods of jointing, components, valves and gauges.
  • Gain an understanding of EHSQ procedures on site, including the use of SPA’s, GA forms, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Prepare a variation order for a client on a live project using the Estimate Worksheet.
  • Issue tender packages to sub‑contractors and suppliers.
