Responsibilities
- Responsible for completing a range of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks and inspections.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly and 6-monthly PPM tasks adhering to SFG20 requirements.
- Document check sheets and reports for each PPM task, including daily and weekly system checks across various sites, primarily in the Midlands area and occasionally outside this region.
- Maintain effective communication with the clientβs site engineering team and King & Moffatt management.
- Maintain all electrical plant services to industry standards.
- Oversee subcontractor activities as required, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, method statements, and QHSE permitting.
- Conduct electrical installations and upgrades in line with BS7671 regulations.
- Test and inspect electrical systems; issue relevant certifications (EICRs, Minor Works Certificates).
- Possess technical knowledge of critical environments power, production line assemblies, HVAC systems, public address systems, fire alarm works, and emergency lighting.
- Identify part replacements and obtain quotations for condition maintenance plans.
- Ensure statutory engineering maintenance documentation is maintained and accessible.
- Oversee completion of PPMs and Client Service Requests in line with SLAs.
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed via digital or paper-based systems.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and review site SOPs, ERAs, and scenario training.
- Adhere to King & Moffatt QHSE procedures and implement improvements identified during inspections.
- Participate in technical training requirements, including competency assessments and scenario training exercises.
- Be part of Out of Hours call-out rota for site.
- Directly accountable to the King & Moffatt FM Management team.
- No direct budgetary responsibility but requires financial awareness.
- Compile RAMS for all projects and ensure adherence to RAMS and task-specific SPAs.
- Promote a positive health, safety, quality and environmentally conscious culture across the project.
- Conduct site inspections and report on EHSQ performance of project teams and subcontractors, making recommendations to ensure safe working conditions to the EHSQ Manager.
- Review all EHSQ-related documentation submitted by contractors and sub-contractors.
- Collate accident statistics and undertake trend analysis where relevant.
- Maintain flexibility to work with the client in service delivery as required.
Person Specification
- Strong experience in maintenance and PPM regimes to SFG20.
- Proficiency in PC and MS Office applications.
- Recognized 3rd Level Qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Excellent fault diagnosis skills.
- Experience with BMS Controls and HVAC systems.
- Good technical knowledge with ability to project manage and multitask.
- Ability to work to high standards against agreed timescales with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of emergency response, standby, and call-out activities and protocols.
- Experience with UPS, standby power, lifts, boilers, and HVAC systems.
- Experience with electrical systems, switchgear, and earthing systems (LV & HV).
- Eligibility to become a company SAP for LV systems.
Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- 2391/2394/2395 Testing & Inspection qualification desirable but not essential.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, ideally in a mobile role.
- Strong fault-finding skills and knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Desirable: Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and knowledge of additional building services (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
- IPAF, PASMA, or ECS Card.
