King and Moffatt Building Services is currently looking to hire an Electrical Tester for our site in Wolverhampton.
Responsibilities
- Survey, test and certify electrical installations to current regulations.
- Carry out electrical inspection and testing in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and Guidance Note 3.
- Perform Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection & Testing on electrical installations.
- Complete Electrical Installation Certificates accurately and in a timely manner.
- Diagnose faults and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of test results and create reports of any issues found.
- Liaise with K&M Compliance Department and Site managers to ensure smooth workflow and compliance on projects.
- Ensure all installation works meet NICEIC and company quality standards.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment; ensure equipment is in date and calibrated.
- Comply with all EHSQ policies and procedures as required.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Qualified Electrician with AM2.
- City and Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) Inspection and Testing.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Qualification.
- CSCS/ECS card required.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate with knowledge of iPad usage.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive approach.
Additional Information
- Excellent organisational skills.
- NICEIC Approved Contractor experience.
- Familiarity with electrical software for test results (e.g., Amtech, Trimble).
- Experience working on large commercial and industrial construction sites.
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of amendments to BS 7671 and CPD records.
- Manual handling.
- IPAF certification.
- PASMA certification.
- Given the project‑based nature of the work, you will be expected to work on varying sites and/or travel to different sites across the country in the normal course of your work.
