We are seeking a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to take end-to-end operational ownership of King & McGaw’s supply chain, material inventory control, and outbound shipping. In this role, you will focus on vendor management, scrap reduction, carrier optimisation, and disciplined system management. Your core objective will be ensuring material availability while directly protecting GP1 margins across our multi-component physical product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain & Commercial Procurement
- Vendor Management:Manage day-to-day relationships and commercial contracts across raw material suppliers and packaging providers.
- Cost Control: Proactively negotiate material pricing, bulk terms, and contract renewals.
- Supplier SLA Performance: Track vendor lead times, delivery fulfilment, and raw material consistency to ensure zero production line stoppages.
- Sustainability Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the sustainability roadmap, ensuring procurement and logistics workflows align with UK manufacturing standards (FSC, SMETA, ISO 14001).
ERP Ownership, BOM Accuracy & Stock Control
- ERP Ownership: Act as the Stock Management module owner of the ERP system. Maintain system data integrity, inventory workflows, and stock reconciliation.
- BOM Accuracy: Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy across all product ranges. Work closely with production and product development to ensure correct material mappings, yield calculations, and accurate job-costing to protect GP1 and enable commercial decision making.
- Re-order & Yield Efficiency: Maintain standard re-order points, lead-time buffers, and audit workflows. Collaboration with the production line leads to auditing actual yield versus BOM specifications to reduce waste and scrap.
- Courier Management: Manage all domestic courier networks (DPD, UPS, Parcelforce, Royal Mail) as well as pallet services to secure optimum SLAs and competitive shipping rates.
- Packaging & Transit: Refine packaging solutions, protective materials, and carrier handling procedures tailored for high-risk, fragile framed artwork to maintain minimal damage rates.
- Billing Audits & Disputes: Audit freight and courier invoicing, contest volumetric surcharges, and manage transit damage claims through to financial recovery.
- Trade Compliance: Oversee basic import/export documentation, HS commodity code classification, and minor trade compliance requirements for international orders and B2B/retail client guidelines.
- Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in a broad Supply Chain & Logistics Manager role within manufacturing, e-commerce, or multi-component retail.
- ERP & Systems: Hands-on experience as an ERP system power user or owner within an operational setting. Deep understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) setup, inventory control systems, and master data management.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated commercial mindset focused on protecting GP1 margins through strategic procurement, yield optimisation, supplier negotiations, and carrier cost controls.
- Logistics Expertise: Expert knowledge of UK domestic parcel, courier, and pallet networks, specifically for fragile or high-risk items. Practical knowledge of basic customs and HS codes for light international volumes.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of legislative requirements, trade compliance, and supply-chain sustainability guidelines.
- Attributes: Exceptionally detailed, structured, process-driven, and analytical. Able to effectively bridge shop-floor operational needs with system data integrity.
