We have created a new opportunity for an experienced Transport Co-ordinator to join our business ensuring that all operational and compliance heavy goods transport related duties and obligations are achieved within the required timescales. Working closely with the Transport Manager, this would ideally suit an individual who has proven working administration experience of Transport operations and compliance. This will be a busy and challenging role providing great job satisfaction.
Main Objectives:- Assist with the management of the HGV fleet and PMI schedules.
- Ensure all MOT’s are organised and vehicle defects are reported.
- Complete driver licence checks, analyse tacho recordings, collate data on infringements, manage driver hours and rest periods.
- Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers to jobs.
- Schedule deliveries and collections.
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers and deputise in the Transport Manager’s absence.
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience of transport planning
- Minimum of 2 years administration experience
- Good working knowledge of transport related laws, regulations and rules
- Good standard of verbal and written English
- Excellent computer skills in particular Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Proactive, professional with a hands-on approach
- Previous experience within the crane or construction industries
- Experience of ab-normal load routing
- CPC qualification
- Working knowledge of Convey software

Hours of work: 8.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. This is a full-time office role based in Wigan, Greater Manchester. To be considered for this role, you must have the right to work in the UK and live within a daily commutable distance to Wigan.
