Senior Theatre Sister/Charge Nurse (Scrub) to join a prestigious private surgical clinic in the heart of London's renowned medical district. Reporting directly to the

Director of Clinical Services

, you will provide clinical leadership within the operating theatres, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, governance and operational excellence.

Working closely with leading Consultant Plastic Surgeons, Cosmetic Surgeons and Dermatologists, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the theatre department while remaining clinically active.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Senior Scrub Nurse, Theatre Sister or Charge Nurse looking to progress into a broader leadership position within a high-end private surgical environment.

The Role

As Senior Theatre Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for the clinical leadership and operational management of the theatre team, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality surgical services across a varied elective caseload.

You will support the

Director of Clinical Services in driving continuous service improvement, maintaining regulatory compliance and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership of the operating theatres.
  • Report directly to and support the Director of Clinical Services in the delivery of strategic and operational objectives.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the theatre team, promoting best practice and professional development.
  • Act as Lead Scrub Practitioner across a wide range of cosmetic, plastic, reconstructive and dermatological procedures.
  • Coordinate theatre lists, staffing levels and resource planning to maximise efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, infection prevention policies, clinical governance and patient safety requirements.
  • Support recruitment, induction, training, appraisal and performance management of theatre staff.
  • Lead on audits, quality improvement initiatives and incident investigations where required.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with Consultants, anaesthetists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure exceptional patient experience is delivered throughout the surgical pathway.
  • Deputise for the Director of Clinical Services when required in relation to theatre operations.

About You

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
  • Extensive scrub experience within Cosmetic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery or Dermatology.
  • Previous experience as a Theatre Sister, Charge Nurse, Senior Scrub Nurse or Theatre Team Leader within an independent healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, CQC standards and quality improvement.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills.
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and leading by example.
  • Committed to developing others and promoting a culture of clinical excellence.
