We are currently recruiting for a passionate and experienced Recovery Nurse to join a prestigious private hospital based on Harley Street, London. The hospital is renowned for delivering exceptional patient care and offers a high-quality environment for both patients and staff.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled theatre team and play a key role in supporting patients through their immediate post-operative recovery.

The Role

As a Recovery Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective and compassionate care to patients following surgical procedures. Working as part of a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, you will monitor and assess patients during their recovery from anaesthesia, ensuring their comfort, safety and wellbeing while supporting a smooth transition through the post-operative pathway.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality nursing care within the post-anaesthetic recovery area
  • Monitoring patients following surgical procedures and anaesthesia
  • Recognising and responding appropriately to changes in patients' clinical condition
  • Managing airways and supporting patients with post-operative pain and nausea
  • Safely preparing patients for transfer or discharge from recovery
  • Working closely with Anaesthetists, Surgeons, Theatre Practitioners and the wider clinical team
  • Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with infection prevention, patient safety and clinical governance standards
  • Supporting the efficient day-to-day running of the recovery area
  • Delivering an exceptional patient experience throughout the post-operative journey

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Previous experience working within a Recovery or Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) environment
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
  • Experience caring for patients following general anaesthesia
  • The ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative approach to working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding patient care

Experience within a private hospital setting would be advantageous; however, experienced Recovery Nurses from NHS acute hospital environments are also encouraged to apply.
