We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Theatre Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join a well-established private hospital in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-performing surgical team across a wide range of specialities, including orthopaedics, gynaecology, plastics and more. If you have HCA experience in other departments then training can be on offer within the theatre area! The Role

As a Theatre HCA, you will play a key role in supporting the clinical team to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality patient care within the operating theatre environment. You will assist across all areas of theatre, including anaesthetics, scrub and recovery as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing operating theatres prior to procedures
  • Support clinical staff during surgical procedures
  • Ensure equipment and instruments are clean, prepared, and available
  • Assist with patient positioning, transfer, and care before and after surgery
  • Maintain high standards of infection control and patient safety
  • Contribute to the smooth running of theatre lists

About You

  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant, ideally within a theatre setting – however experience in other departments is okay
  • Understanding of theatre procedures and sterile environments (desirable)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and professional approach
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care
