Are you an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking to develop your career within a prestigious private hospital environment? We are currently recruiting for a Theatre Healthcare Assistant to join a highly regarded private hospital based on Harley Street, London. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care across a range of surgical specialities.
The Role
As a Theatre Healthcare Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the clinical team throughout the patient journey. Working closely with Theatre Practitioners, Surgeons, Anaesthetists and the wider hospital team, you will help ensure the safe and efficient running of the theatre department.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting patients before, during and after surgical procedures
- Assisting the theatre team with the preparation of theatres and equipment
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control
- Supporting with patient positioning and transfers
- Assisting with the safe movement of patients between departments
- Preparing and maintaining theatre environments between procedures
- Supporting stock management and ensuring clinical areas are appropriately equipped
- Working in line with hospital policies, procedures and health and safety requirements
- Providing compassionate, professional and patient-focused care at all times
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within an operating theatre or surgical environment
- Experience within a private hospital, NHS hospital or similar acute healthcare setting
- A strong understanding of infection prevention and control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient-focused and compassionate approach
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A proactive and reliable approach to your work
- Flexibility to support the needs of a busy theatre department
You will be confident working in a fast-paced clinical environment and committed to delivering an exceptional standard of patient care.
