King Edward VII is seeking to appoint two cleaners aspart of a small team helping to maintain a clean and healthy learning environmentfor the users of our School.
The successful candidates will be responsible formaintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in classrooms, sciencerooms, design and technology rooms, toilets and other areas around School. Thispost is based across both the Lower School building on Darwin Lane, and UpperSchool building on Glossop Road.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- communicate effectively with other employeesand the school community
- be reliable and punctual
- be able to use their initiative
- be aware of Health and Safety Policies
- take responsibility for the cleaning standardsin a specific area
- work to a high standard in a safe manner
- understand the needs of the School inprioritising work load
- willing to undertake any training provided

Thispost is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successfulapplicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS certificate. As thepost will involve regulated activity with children, it is a criminal offence toapply for this post if you are included on the children’s barred list held bythe DBS.
Amendmentsto the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spentconvictions and cautions are "protected". These are not subject to thedisclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account.
