Salary : Support Staff Pay Scale B : per hour (plus holiday pay)

Casual Contract, Variable Hours (Hours will only be offered during school terms.)

King Edward VII Academy is seeking a Minibus Driver to transport pupils and staff to and from a variety of locations, ensuring the safety of passengers and other road users at all times. For this role, you will hold a current, clean UK driving licence which enables you to drive a minibus lite.

Ofsted (October, 2024) stated : ‘The school expects high standards of pupils’ work and behaviour. It reminds pupils that every minute counts in meeting these standards. Pupils are rising to this challenge. They know that they attend an inclusive school that has improved rapidly. In the past, academic outcomes have been low. Now, however, the sense of ambition is abundantly clear. Lessons are engaging and focused. Pupils learn well.’

This role will primarily involve picking up and dropping off our students who live a further distance from the Academy with fewer transport links but will also involve school trips and any other transportation required.

The idea candidate will have :

  • Full, clean driver’s licence which allows driving of minibus lites.
  • Willingness and ability to complete successfully the Norfolk County Council Minibus Driver Assessment and a Driver’s Occupational Health assessment prior to driving any school vehicle. Please note : Any offer of employment is subject to successfully obtaining this qualification and this assessment will be arranged prior to any commencement of driving duty
  • Experience of driving a minibus / large vehicle including passengers
  • Experience of carrying out vehicle checks and basic maintenance
  • Experience of following stringent guidelines to keep oneself and others safe
  • Ability to maintain calm and focus when working under pressure

The curriculum sets out what pupils will learn and the correct order in which it is taught. High-quality training and support from the trust have led to precise teaching. Teachers use their strong subject knowledge to present new concepts clearly. Staff are invested in the school and the community. They feel well supported by leaders who manage their workload with sensitivity. They want the very best for pupils and are proud to work at the school.”
