Our client, based in the North Manchester area, is looking for a Switchgear Low Voltage Fitter/Panel Builder. The role is workshop based and pays up to £45,000 per annum. You will be involved in all aspects of Switchgear assembly, wiring and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble LV switchgear following engineering drawings and busbar layouts.
  • Fit and secure electrical components such as isolators, changeover switches, metering devices, surge protection devices and busbar systems.
  • Install and torque busbars, copper work, and interconnections to specified torque values and manufacturer standards.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly including mounting plates, backplates, cable trunking, and enclosure frameworks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building LV switchgear, power distribution assemblies, or electrical distribution boards.
  • Good understanding of LV electrical distribution components and protective devices.
  • Ability to interpret single line diagrams, wiring schematics and busbar drawings.
  • Competent in handling and torquing busbars, cable terminations and power assemblies.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation / Electrical Engineering (or relevant apprenticeship).
