Location: Montrose

Hours: 4 days on, 4 days off – split between day and night, 46 hours per week

Contract: Ongoing – Temporary

Pay: £28 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on duplex stainless steels and Inconel clad carbon steel in line with approved WPS
  • Fabricate and weld pipe spools (¾"–9" OD) to tight tolerances, ensuring correct alignment, sound root fusion, and full penetration
  • Work in compliance with ASME Section IX, EN ISO 15614, EN ISO 9606, or equivalent company‑approved welding qualification standards
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, fabrication drawings, weld maps, and WPS/PQR documentation
  • Carry out all stages of weld preparation including joint fit‑up, bevel inspection, purge planning/setup, and consumable control
  • Produce welds that meet VT, PT, RT, and UT acceptance criteria
  • Follow internal fabrication procedures, safety requirements, and strict material traceability processes
  • Collaborate with supervisors, welding inspectors, and QA teams to maintain production schedules and quality standards

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong experience in TIG welding on duplex, super duplex, Inconel, or other CRA materials
  • Proven background in pipe spool fabrication and coded pipe welding
  • Valid welding qualifications to ASME IX, ISO 9606, or equivalent
  • Ability to work from technical drawings and fabrication documentation with high accuracy
  • Strong understanding of weld quality, NDE requirements, and fabrication shop standards
  • Proactive, safety‑focused approach and commitment to producing high‑integrity work
