Job Overview: Join a busy yard & workshop team as a Yard Operative to support machinery movements, loading, preparation and general site operations. Ideal for someone practical, organised and confident operating machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Yard management: Keep the yard clean, organised and safe; maintain machine display areas; ensure clear access routes.
- Machinery movement: Safely move equipment using forklifts (up to 7T), side loaders, telehandlers, tractors and overhead cranes (OHC/10T Humber).
- Vehicle loading: Load/unload lorries, secure loads, follow safe lifting procedures and support drivers.
- Machine preparation: Wash, prepare and complete basic pre-delivery checks; fit simple attachments.
- General workshop support: Assist workshop, parts and production teams; support housekeeping; help maintain buildings and grounds.
- Local collections: Carry out local supplier collections using company vehicles.
