Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Review and develop the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule
  • Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data systems
  • Schedule both internal and external work(s)
  • Manage the team to ensure machine availability
  • Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance
  • Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements undertaken
  • Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose
  • Manage and maintain site criticality survey
  • Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend
  • Manage the process of the introduction of new machinery
  • Manage the process of disposal of obsolete machinery
  • Lead and develop capability in the team to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
  • Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation
  • Provide technical expertise to the team
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the engineering department
  • Ensure that Housekeeping in all Engineering Controlled areas are kept to the highest standards
  • Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience of leading an Engineering department with strong leadership and team development skills
  • Engineering apprenticeship and associated qualifications such as BTEC ONC, HNC, HND in Electrical Engineering is essential
  • Have a good understanding of HACCP, COSHH and GMP principles
  • You will also possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate assertiveness and decision-making skills and have a positive attitude to your work
  • Drive Root Cause Analysis and strive to prevent re‑occurrence with counter measures
  • CMMS experience and knowledge
  • Ability to deploy and execute the preventative maintenance strategy for the site
  • Driven to deliver solutions, ideas and innovations in a positive and pragmatic way
  • Passionate about quality and best practice whilst driving continuous improvement
  • Working knowledge of internal H&S audits and processes
  • Capex and Project Management experience essential
