Are you an Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a new position? Is Huyton in Merseyside somewhere you can easily commute to? Happy with a salary including shift of circa £55500? Would working 12 hour shifts 3 days, 3 off, and 3 nights work for you? Do you have previous experience working in an FMCG environment, preferably tissue paper converting? Have you experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated systems? This role is working in a brand new state of the art paper converting facility, with exciting plans for rapid expansion in the near future

Job Overview

  • Leading a multidisciplinary team of operators.
  • Operating equipment to the required standards while achieving set production targets.
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, including tissue converting machinery, packaging equipment, and ancillary systems.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical faults, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely.
  • Collaborating with production teams to minimise downtime and address issues, while documenting maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations.
  • Assisting with new equipment installations and managing contractor relationships.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and developing maintenance procedures to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Performing basic production operator tasks as required.
