Job Summary

My client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Fire Damper Technician to join their growing team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual with experience in fire damper inspection, testing, maintenance, remedial works, and replacement. Following a successful qualifying period, the successful candidate will be offered a permanent position.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections, testing, remedial works, and replacement of fire dampers within commercial and industrial properties, ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting fire damper inspections and drop testing
  • Identifying defective or non‑compliant dampers
  • Completing detailed compliance reports and documentation
  • Carrying out remedial works, including repairs and replacement of components
  • Replacing fire dampers where required
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Liaising professionally with clients and site teams

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working with fire dampers and HVAC systems
  • Experience carrying out fire damper inspections and drop testing
  • Good understanding of fire safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to complete accurate reports and documentation
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • CSCS Card preferred
  • Relevant fire damper inspection/testing qualifications desirable
  • PASMA and IPAF advantageous

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel to sites across the UK
  • Flexibility to work away from home on occasion is essential
  • Occasional out‑of‑hours or weekend work may be required to meet client requirements
