About the Stores Operative Role
A great opportunity for an organised and proactive Stores Operative to join a busy engineering/manufacturing environment. You'll manage materials, maintain accurate stock levels, support production, and carry out collections/deliveries using the company vehicle - so a full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Goods receiving – booking in materials, checking paperwork, updating stock systems
- Stock control – maintaining inventory accuracy, completing stock counts, reporting shortages
- Order picking – preparing materials, components, and finished goods for production/dispatch
- Driving duties – collections, deliveries, supplier runs using the company vehicle
- Warehouse operations – loading/unloading, manual handling, housekeeping
- Supporting workshop teams with materials, consumables, and basic stores administration
Skills & Experience Required
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- Experience in a stores, warehouse, or goods-in/out role
- Confident using basic computer systems
- Good communication skills
- Able to work independently and within a team and own initiative
- Experience in engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing
- Knowledge of materials, components, or workshop consumables
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Counterbalance FLT licence (RTITB/ITSSAR)
