Job Description:
Purpose: The Quality Specialist monitors and promotes conformance to quality standards, investigates and recommends quality system actions in response to nonconforming events, identifies opportunities for continuous improvement activities and supports the establishment of and adherence to Kinetico's Quality Management System.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Identifies and leads quality related improvement activities within the department and contributes expertise to improvement activities in adjacent departments.
- Leads or participates in quality related special projects or assignments that are either individually or team driven.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Interprets engineering drawings and develops, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for product evaluation.
- Performs technical analysis of data and develops graphical representation of results.
- Contributes to the development, documentation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
- Creates job instructions to assist operators in performing assigned tasks.
- Establishes programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
- Identifies and illustrates inspection procedures, indicating areas to be examined, measuring devices to be used, and maximum and minimum acceptable criteria.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge of product.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
- Performs process audits per QMS requirements including adherence to job instructions.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities, such as dimensions and performance characteristics.

- Implementation of a quality management system will require the ability to evaluate and recommend standards and processes in support of program development.
- Demonstrates ability to influence Quality KPI's in a positive manner.
- Demonstrates good communication, relations with external customers and vendors.
- Proficiently demonstrates skills to perform key responsibilities, under minimal supervision through advanced training and/or on the job experience.
- Follows standard operating procedures and applies analytical skills to perform a variety of activities.
- Works with others in a manner that promotes teamwork, learning and development of self and of others.
- Uses tools and equipment safely and properly.
- Follows procedures and accurately documents results.
- Completes work assignments on a timely basis.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Required: Associate's degree and 3-5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment with quality responsibilities.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred: ASQ Certification.
- Green Belt Certification.
- ISO 9001:2015 Certified Auditor Training.
- Preferred: Experience with CAD programs.
- Experience with developing and setting up a QMS.
- Demonstrated ability to perform and provide expertise in a wide range of processes and testing procedures as outlined in the qualifications matrix of the organization.
- Ability to operate effectively both as an individual and as part of a team.
- Mechanical and math aptitude.
- Word processing and spreadsheet proficiency.
- Mental and visual attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Organizational Context: The Quality Specialist reports to the Quality Manager and collaborates daily with the quality assurance staff, production operators, manufacturing engineers, and laboratory staff. Externally, the role communicates with vendors.
