The Injection Molding Engineer provides technical expertise for the company’s molding operation. This includes employing technical and process proficiency to identify key investment opportunities and process improvements that deliver innovation and plant efficiency, and result in production of high-quality, cost-effective products.

This position is 100% onsite. The schedule is M-F, generally the hours are 8-5.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifies optimal solutions to molding operation processes that achieve manufacturing quality, volume, and cost expectations.
  • Recommends best practices in support of these objectives.
  • Leads and implements cost reduction activities and capital equipment acquisition including payback analysis, capacity analysis, and business case justification.
  • Aids in plant safety, layout, ergonomics, and process engineering such that products are produced efficiently while meeting industry standards.
  • Provides expertise and capabilities in molding-specific mechanical engineering, application of press controls and equipment and facility layout.
  • Assists technical staff in troubleshooting and correcting production tool and process issues.
  • Works with cross functional teams to provide root cause analysis and permanent corrective action to complex quality issues.
  • Mentors associates responsible for the day-to-day molding operations, focusing on employee engagement, team development, and a commitment to our One Kinetico Behaviors.
  • Manages tooling development, tool design validation, mold sampling and validation, vendor relationships and the creation of systems to maintain required documentation of our process.
  • Develops connections across all boundaries working collaboratively to develop solutions for our long‑term strategy.
What you will need to succeed
  • Bachelor of Science Degree required in Engineering or related technical field. Master’s Degree a plus.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience supporting a world‑class molding operation.
  • Skilled in the science of molding, equipment and tooling.
  • Skilled in the use of Tooling and Part drawing software including Solid Works.
  • Experience transitioning a manufacturing facility to automated processes.
  • Experience working effectively across all functions of an organization.
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others in a positive, engaging manner.
  • Experience preparing business case documentation to support new funding for important manufacturing capital investments.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and engaging others and creating high‑performance teams.
