Senior Field Refrigeration Engineer – UK – Pharmaceutical Freeze Drying
About the Company:
We are looking for an experienced F-Gas certified Refrigeration Engineer to oversee customer service, maintenance and commissioning of pharmaceutical freeze dryers for a CDMO based in the UK.
Our client specializes in the sale, installation, service, and emergency support of industrial freeze dryers, evaporators, and homogenizers for pharmaceutical and biotech companies across the UK and Europe.
You will be part of a dynamic team of field engineers, led by the Engineering Director, providing critical support to pharmaceutical and biotech customers.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and site acceptance testing of freeze drying equipment on-site with customers across the UK.
- Performing qualification, calibration, and service tasks, along with breakdown support at the customer sites.
- Acting as the company’s go-to expert on refrigeration, handling both on-site and off-site technical documentation, return-to-base repairs, and warranty issues.
- Supporting the Engineering Director to ensure maximum efficiency in scheduling and resource allocation.
Requirements:
- F-Gas certified multi-skilled Refrigeration Engineer with a background in both electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Experience with freeze dryers or other complex pharmaceutical/biotech refrigeration (operating at -70°C or lower)
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- UK-based and able to travel frequently (70%+) to customer sites, including overnight stays
