About the Company: We are looking for an experienced chemist to join the field team at a leading environmental services company. You will travel to various industrial sites supporting on testing and maintenance. Working in a customer facing team, you will provide services to a range of clients primarily in the South Wales area and also when needed across the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine sampling, testing, and monitoring.
- Execute chemistry tests, analyse results, and prepare clear technical reports and recommendations.
- Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot chemical dosing and process monitoring equipment.
- Support new customer implementations and application start-ups alongside the sales team.
- Manage chemical inventories and coordinate material requirements at customer sites.
- Investigate system performance issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders and act as a trusted technical advisor.
- Provide technical support and escalate complex issues where required.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, charts, and performance summaries.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in water treatment, process chemistry, utilities, or a similar industrial environment.
- Client facing experience.
- A knowledge of cooling towers, steam plants, closed systems, chemical feed systems, pre-treatment equipment, and process monitoring would be beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective customer relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently in a field-based role.
- Full UK driving licence required.
