We're looking for a

Functional Safety Engineer to join our team, helping to design and deliver high-integrity control systems for some of the UK's most technically challenging engineering projects.

What you'll be doing

You'll play a key role in ensuring our control systems are safe, compliant and delivered to the highest engineering standards. You'll:

  • Design and develop safety-related control systems for complex engineering projects.
  • Produce technical documentation, safety specifications and design calculations.
  • Carry out risk assessments, system verification and validation activities.
  • Support Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT).
  • Work closely with clients and project teams to deliver safe, high-quality solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practice in functional and machinery safety.

What we're looking for

You'll be degree-qualified in Electrical, Control or a related engineering discipline, with experience designing safety-related control systems in an industrial or regulated environment.

Ideally, you'll have experience with

  • Functional and machinery safety standards (such as BS EN 13849, BS EN 61508 or BS EN 62061).
  • Electrical design tools such as Eplan.
  • PLC/HMI platforms including Siemens, Rockwell or Schneider.
  • Safety validation, risk assessments and technical documentation.

Experience within Defence, Nuclear, Aerospace or other safety-critical industries would be advantageous.
