Are you an experienced Inspector, Mechanical Engineer or a CNC Machinist looking to move into Inspection & Testing? Have you worked in a Manufacturing environment doing 1st off and end of line inspections? Do you have experience working with micrometres and running CMM's? Is your experience in the Metallic component manufacturing industry, measuring and inspecting? Are you someone eager and willing to do training if provided? Happy working in the Lytham area of Lancashire? Looking for a permanent role working days only? If you have answered 'yes' to the above questions then this role might be your next job.

The role will consist of verifying product compliance to the requirements, supporting the manufacturing process and ensuring nonconforming products are identified and segregated. Use of measuring equipment, completing reports and creating records. Although we would like candidates to have some of the above experience, training is provided so the ideal candidate will have a willingness and interest in learning.

Main responsibilities and duties:

  • This is an operational role that requires daily on-site interaction with colleagues, line management and senior management.
  • Identifying areas for improvement, implementing suitable processes and providing training for inspection requirements with the inspection and production departments, identifying and implementing continual process improvement to ensure best practice using current and as applicable new technologies.
  • Apply gauge R&R (MSA techniques) to monitor, record and analyse measurement systems capabilities to confirm suitability. Provide justification for replacement and new equipment, submit purchase request forms, maintaining required capabilities.
  • Investigate product and process nonconformance, identify, implement and field root cause corrective actions, document findings and take appropriate actions required to address risks of repeat non-conformance.
  • Ensure 'red cards' are suitably raised, adding required rework actions including controls and checks, ensure any engineering test requests and over inspection requirements are documented to ensure rework activities, address the issue and any potential risk of escape.
  • Conducting audits as required by the quality system.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained, inspection status is suitably communicated to interested parties and attending meetings as required.
  • Support inspection activities in line with the requirements of inspection procedures and instructions, ensuring records are maintained.
  • Escalate quality issues outside of own ownership.
  • General administrative activities and area organisation.
  • Ensure all activities carried out are ethical, meet H&S regulations and comply with company procedures.
  • Ensure your area of responsibility complies with the Environmental Management System.
