Duties include

  • Fabrication / Repair: Responsibility for repairs to mould tools utilising a range of materials and fabrication techniques including TIG, MIG and gas welding.
  • Sheet metal fabrication of complex shapes / parts using press brake, guillotine and rolling equipment.
  • Fabricating / repairing parts for machinery / factory structures using sectional steel and welding methods.
  • Supervise safe working practices and ensure compliance with all HS&E policies across fabrication areas.
  • Manage fabrication workflows for efficiency and resource utilisation.
  • Managerial Support: To report directly to the CI & Engineering Manager regarding maintenance, repair scheduling and project status.
  • Provide technical advice and leadership on complex fabrication tasks and material usage.
  • To regularly report any tool / consumable requirements.
  • Log and escalate any defects or safety concerns during routine tasks.
  • Act as team leader to mentor and support the fabrication team and encourage skill development.
  • Engineering / CI Support: Collaborate with the CI & Engineering Manager and Mould Maintenance Supervisor to develop and integrate new solutions or improvements to existing tools.
  • To liaise with the CI & Engineering Manager in relation to project work.
  • Production Support: To liaise with the Production Department to oversee and execute preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring that all tools are operational and maintained to a high level of availability.
  • General Duties: Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work environment (5S).

LOCATION: Preston

SALARY: £45000

SHIFT: 39h/week, Mon-Thu 7:30-16:00, Friday 8:00 -15:15
