My client is currently looking for a Press Operator to join an innovative, established business on a temporary to permanent basis, based in Birtley. This is working on a rotating shift pattern of days and afternoons. You must be able to do both shifts. There will also get a pay rise for the successful candidate once permanent.
Shift Schedule:
- Morning shift – Monday to Friday: 06:00 until 12:00 – £12.71 per hour.
- Afternoon shift – Monday to Friday: 14:00 until 20:00 – £14.83 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Set up press machines (mechanical, hydraulic, or printing presses)
- Load raw materials (metal sheets, paper, etc.) into the machine
- Adjust machine settings (pressure, speed, alignment) for accuracy
- Operate the press to produce finished products
- Inspect output for quality and defects
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Keep production records and logs
