Kinetic Recruitment are looking for a Degree qualified Facilities Technical Support Engineer to assist with some large on-site projects. The salary for this role is £60,000 to £70,000 per annum with generous benefits, including private medical & 10% pension.
The job is based in the East Cheshire area; commutable from Middlewich, Crewe, Holmes Chapel, Congleton, Sandbach & Northwich areas. You will be working for a leading manufacturing company who are experiencing huge growth and expansion, hence the need for additional staff and someone to assist with new projects.
As a Degree qualified Technical Support Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring site safety, combining traditional technical facilities support coupled with responsibility for delivering site infrastructure and improvement projects.
Duties:
- Maintain critical infrastructure, building services, and utilities, ensuring reliability and compliance with UK regulatory, HSE, and GMP standards for day-to-day activities and new construction projects.
- Working cross-functionally with Facilities, Manufacturing, HSE, and contractors, the role supports business growth and drives continuous improvement across cleanrooms and HVAC, water and process systems, CHP and site utilities, and energy management initiatives.
- Champion a strong health, safety, environmental, and wellbeing culture across all facilities activities.
- Support or deputise as Responsible Person for statutory systems (e.g. Legionella), as required.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of site infrastructure, utilities, and building services.
- Manage facilities projects from concept to completion - delivering on time and within budget.
- Lead contractor management, including permits, RAMS, and performance monitoring.
- Provide technical problem-solving support and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, QA, HSE, and Procurement.
- Ensure statutory inspections, certification, and compliance records are maintained and current.
- Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives across the site.
Technical Support Engineer beneficial key skills and experience:
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in facilities, building services, maintenance, or project engineering.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, contractor management, and risk control.
- Experience delivering engineering or facilities projects.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and engineering systems (e.g. CAD, CAFM, asset management tools).
Desirable:
- Project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP).
- NEBOSH, IOSH, CDM, CSCS, or similar.
- Understanding of RIBA stages and building lifecycle management.
