Hourly Pay: £13.46 rising to £14.45 once fully trained

Hours: Monday to Wednesday 07:00 to 17:00 and Thursday 07:00 to 16:30. Overtime on Friday paid at time and a half

Contract: Ongoing temporary

About the Role

We're looking for a Metal Finisher to support the finishing of fabricated metal components. This role is ideal for someone confident using hand and power tools and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment.

You'll be responsible for preparing metal parts to the required quality standards through grinding, sanding, deburring, polishing, and general finishing work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fettling, grinding, sanding, linishing, and deburring metal components
  • Using a range of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Preparing surfaces to required finish levels
  • Working on fabricated assemblies, stainless steel, mild steel, and sheet metal
  • Inspecting finished parts for quality and accuracy
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working area
  • Supporting wider production teams where required

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in metal finishing, fettling, grinding, or similar
  • Confident using hand tools and power tools
  • Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to set standards
  • A positive, reliable, team-focused approach
  • Experience in fabrication or engineering environments
  • Knowledge of linishing, polishing, or deburring techniques (desirable)
  • Understanding of Health & Safety
