Our client, a leading manufacturing company in the North Manchester area, are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a long term contract basis, initially until the end of the year, but likely to go on well into 2027. The work is on days Monday to Friday, starting at 7am or 8am, and will pay £19/hr PAYE. This is a long term contract/permanent role which will assist the current Senior Engineer on site. You would be working 7.5 hours per day and they are flexible on start time from 7am-8am. The role is commutable from Bury, Oldham, Middleton, Rochdale, Bolton & Littleborough.
Responsibilities
- Assist the current Senior Engineer on site.
- Perform mechanical maintenance on production machinery and equipment, including bearings, shafts, motors/drives, and related components.
- Work on days Monday to Friday, with a 7.5 hour day and flexible start times between 7am and 8am.
Qualifications
- Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong manufacturing background in reactive and PPM work.
- Solid all-round electro-mechanical engineering experience with production machinery and equipment; able to strip and test a motor and perform basic fault finding.
- Flexible, proactive, able to manage own workloads.
