Kinetic Manchester are recruiting a Machine Minder to work for one of our clients based in Blackley. The company has a history dating back more than 120 years, making them a truly world-class manufacturer. Their products build the vital infrastructure that supports the way we live and work.

You will benefit from working with a fantastic company and also:

  • £12.21ph per hour
  • Increase after 12 weeks Training to £17.07

You will be working rotating weekly shifts, so you must be able to work both.

Please note, a DBS check will be completed upon offer.

As one of the Cable Making / Extrusion Operatives, you will be tasked with:

  • Ensuring that the line remains operational during the shift
  • Making minor machine adjustments to ensure the effectiveness of the plant equipment
  • Maintaining the quality of the product
  • Identifying manufacturing compliance problems
  • Operating production machinery as per SOP and Process Specification
  • Completing production sheets e.g. production figures, downtime and scrap
  • Carrying out 5S duties
  • Completing initial investigations to solve process problems using a range of techniques e.g. data collecting, analysis of SPC Chart
  • Completing the line setup and startup in a responsible and safe manner
  • Completing any safety check-offs
  • Testing completed reels/drums as per inspection schedule and recording on production sheet
  • Updating waste management systems, scrap sheets and correctly disposing of scrap

To be successful as the Cable Making / Manufacturing Operative, you must have the following:

  • Excellent practical skills for completing manual work
  • Extrusion experience would be a great advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and spoken instructions
  • Ability to work quickly and follow set routine patterns
  • Awareness of health and safety
  • Must be flexible, enthusiastic, and a team player
  • Able to consistently work rotating shifts
