Logistics Operative Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Logistics Operative to join our busy warehouse team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, supporting production and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Location: Dewsbury
Hours: Monday to Wednesday 07:00 to 17:00, Thursday 07:00 to 16:30, Friday overtime paid at time and a half
Hourly Rate: 12.60 (increased when fully trained), paid weekly
Tenure: Temporary to Permanent
Logistics Operative Daily Responsibilities
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow site safety procedures, wear PPE, report hazards, and maintain clean work areas.
- Goods Inward: Receive deliveries, check against purchase orders, inspect for damage/discrepancies, record and label stock, and process GRNs on ERP systems.
- Stock Management: Store goods in designated areas, conduct cycle counts, monitor fast/slow‑moving items, and update WMS.
- Line Feed Picking & Material Feed: Accurately pick items from call‑off sheets, ensure correct labelling/documentation, and maintain material traceability through to production handover.
- Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other machinery safely; complete daily equipment checks and report faults.
- Communication & Teamwork: Liaise with supervisors, drivers, and departments; attend daily briefings; contribute to continuous improvement; support and train new team members.
Logistics Operative Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with WMS and ERP systems for inbound material booking.
- Current Counterbalance Forklift license (preferred).
- Overhead crane license (preferred).
