Senior Systems Engineer - Subsea Production Controls

Kinetic Recruitment are working in partnership with a global engineering organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Systems Engineer on a 12-month contract in the Bristol area.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on industry-leading subsea projects, supporting both the tendering and project execution phases of complex subsea production control systems.

You'll play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions for major offshore energy projects.

The Role

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from supporting commercial tenders through to system design, integration, testing and project delivery.

Initially, you'll support the tendering team by developing technically robust and commercially competitive solutions.

Following project award, you'll transition into the execution team, taking ownership of the systems engineering activities required to successfully deliver the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the systems engineering input into tender activities for Subsea Production Control Systems.
  • Review customer specifications and prepare technical documentation, design reports and risk registers.
  • Work closely with commercial and engineering teams to develop competitive technical solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the tender and execution phases.
  • Develop and maintain system architectures and requirements documentation.
  • Produce Functional Design Specifications and design review documentation.
  • Support requirements management and systems engineering activities using industry best practice.
  • Define and support Verification & Validation strategies.
  • Manage technical change control and system configuration throughout project delivery.
  • Support integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), system integration testing (SIT) and final acceptance activities.
  • Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

We're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in subsea production controls and a passion for delivering technically excellent engineering solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience working with Subsea Production Control Systems.

  • Technical Risk Management
  • Previous experience supporting complex engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work directly with customers.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.

Desirable Experience

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), or working towards professional registration.
  • Previous tendering or bid support experience.
  • Experience delivering subsea engineering projects from concept through to completion.
  • Knowledge of EPC project environments.
