Kinetic Manchester are currently recruiting a Cable Manufacturing Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Blackley. This is a rotating shift role (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 weekly rotation) within a company that has been operating for over 120 years and is recognised as a world-class manufacturer. They produce essential cable products that support critical infrastructure across the UK. A DBS check will be completed prior to starting.
As a Cable Manufacturing Operative, your duties will include:
- Keeping production lines running efficiently throughout the shift
- Making minor machine adjustments to support smooth operation
- Ensuring product quality standards are consistently met
- Identifying and reporting any manufacturing compliance issues
- Operating production machinery in line with SOPs and process specifications
- Completing production records including output, downtime and scrap
- Carrying out 5S housekeeping standards
- Supporting basic fault finding using data collection and SPC charts
- Assisting with line set-up and start-up in a safe and controlled manner
- Completing required safety checks
- Testing finished reels/drums against inspection schedules and recording results
- Updating waste and scrap documentation and ensuring correct disposal
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Ability to follow written instructions
