Kinetic Manchester are currently recruiting a Cable Manufacturing Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Blackley. This is a rotating shift role (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 weekly rotation) within a company that has been operating for over 120 years and is recognised as a world-class manufacturer. They produce essential cable products that support critical infrastructure across the UK. A DBS check will be completed prior to starting.

As a Cable Manufacturing Operative, your duties will include:

  • Keeping production lines running efficiently throughout the shift
  • Making minor machine adjustments to support smooth operation
  • Ensuring product quality standards are consistently met
  • Identifying and reporting any manufacturing compliance issues
  • Operating production machinery in line with SOPs and process specifications
  • Completing production records including output, downtime and scrap
  • Carrying out 5S housekeeping standards
  • Supporting basic fault finding using data collection and SPC charts
  • Assisting with line set-up and start-up in a safe and controlled manner
  • Completing required safety checks
  • Testing finished reels/drums against inspection schedules and recording results
  • Updating waste and scrap documentation and ensuring correct disposal
