Estimating Engineer in Bishop Auckland

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Estimating Engineer to join an established and growing engineering business based in Bishop Auckland. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimating Engineer with a mechanical engineering or machining background to join a growing business and work closely with both the sales and production teams. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of calculating machining and production times and be confident interpreting engineering drawings, sketches and repair plans to produce accurate job costs and customer quotations. Package - Salary between £33,000 and £41,500 depending on experience Monday to Thursday 08:00 until 16:30 Friday 07:30 until 13:00 24 days holiday plus bank holidays Responsibilities - * Calculate job costs using the company ERP system * Use engineering sketches and drawings to determine task and machining times * Estimate production times within a conventional machine shop environment * Source material costs and obtain subcontract prices * Interpret detailed repair plans to accurately estimate service and repair costs * Collate costs and calculations into complete repair quotations * Prepare and draft customer quotations * Maintain accurate records of calculations within the company database * Use database information to identify opportunities to improve estimating efficiency * Work closely with the sales and production teams to ensure accurate and commercially viable estimates * Maintain a strong focus on Quality, Cost and Delivery The Ideal Candidate - * Mechanical Engineering background * Ideally experienced within a machining or machine shop environment * Experience calculating machining or production times would be advantageous * Able to accurately interpret engineering drawings, sketches and repair plans * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word * Good working knowledge of ERP systems * Accurate and methodical approach to work * Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks * Strong attention to detail * Able to work effectively within a small, multi-disciplined team * Commercially aware with a strong focus on Quality, Cost and Delivery Kinetic plc is a Recruitment Consultancy with over 40 years' experience delivering staffing solutions to the engineering, manufacturing and technical industries.
