A well-established and growing business is looking for a Stock & Purchasing Coordinator to join its Operations team. This is a varied role combining stock administration, purchasing, supplier management, order processing and logistics coordination. You'll be responsible for keeping stock information accurate, monitoring orders and deliveries, resolving queries and working closely with internal teams and external suppliers.

The role would suit an experienced administrator who enjoys working with systems, stock, orders and suppliers and is looking for a long-term opportunity within a friendly and established business.

The Role

Working as part of the Operations team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating incoming stock and monitoring expected delivery dates
  • Updating internal systems with stock and supplier information
  • Checking supplier pricing and investigating discrepancies
  • Raising and processing purchase and stock orders
  • Monitoring outstanding orders and deliveries
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered as expected
  • Coordinating the movement and processing of stock where required
  • Assisting with regular stock checks and system reconciliations
  • Investigating and resolving stock, order and invoice queries
  • Monitoring customer and supplier orders through to completion
  • Supporting internal processes relating to product information and certification
  • Working with internal teams to improve systems and processes
  • Providing information and updates to colleagues across the business
  • Working closely with the sales team to ensure excellent customer service
  • Providing general administrative support to the Operations function

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and comfortable working with stock, orders, suppliers and computer systems. You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative, stock, purchasing, logistics, supply chain or order processing role
  • Experience working with a stock, purchasing, inventory or ERP system
  • Good understanding of administrative and order management processes
  • Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work accurately in a busy environment
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
  • A positive, flexible approach and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Experience within a technical, manufacturing, construction, distribution or supply-chain environment would be advantageous, although this is not essential.

Travel

The role is primarily office based in West Leeds. There will be occasional travel to other UK locations for stock checks, approximately 6 times per year. These visits will generally involve 1-2 overnight stays, with accommodation and business expenses paid by the company. A full UK driving licence is preferred.

Working Pattern

Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5pm, with a one-hour lunch break. The position is initially office based, with 1-2 days' home working available following successful completion of probation, subject to line manager approval.
