About the role: As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will take ownership of player-facing interface and user experience design across gameplay systems, menus, onboarding, progression, multiplayer features, accessibility, and live-service content. You will work closely with the Game Director, Designers, Artists, Audio team, QA and Programmers to create intuitive, immersive and polished experiences that support gameplay clarity while maintaining the tone and atmosphere of the game. This role is not limited to creating interface visuals. We are looking for someone who can identify UX problems, improve player flows, prototype solutions, conduct usability-focused thinking, and help establish long-term UI/UX standards and workflows within the studio. This role is hybrid based at our office in Southampton. At this time, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Design and improve user flows, wireframes, interface layouts and interaction systems.
- Create intuitive UI/UX solutions for gameplay systems, tutorials, progression, inventory, multiplayer interactions, VR, shops and menus.
- Work closely with Designers and the Game Director to ensure UX supports gameplay clarity and player goals.
- Collaborate with Artists and Programmers to ensure interfaces are visually polished and technically robust.
- Prototype and iterate on UX solutions based on testing and feedback.
- Improve onboarding and tutorial experiences for new players.
- Help establish UI/UX standards, documentation and workflows across the studio.
- Ensure UI systems function well across PC, console, handheld, controller and VR platforms.
- Advocate for accessibility, readability and usability best practices.
- Work directly inside Unity to implement, test or iterate UI layouts where required.
- Review existing systems and identify opportunities for UX improvements and quality-of-life features.
- Support the long-term visual consistency and usability of the game as new content and systems are added.
Requirements:
- Professional experience as a UI Designer, UX Designer or UI/UX Designer within game development.
- Experience shipping at least one PC or console title.
- Strong understanding of UX principles, player psychology and interaction design.
- Experience designing interfaces for gameplay systems rather than only menus or HUDs.
- Strong wireframing and prototyping ability.
- Experience collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good understanding of controller and console UX requirements.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take ownership of features from concept through implementation and iteration.
- Experience working with Unity UI workflows is highly desirable.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, Perforce and Plastic.
- Automatically have the right to work in the UK.

- Experience working on multiplayer, live-service, or horror titles.
- Experience with VR UI/UX design.
- Experience with accessibility standards and implementation.
- Motion design or UI animation experience.
- Familiarity with player telemetry and usability testing workflows.
