About the Role: We’re looking for a hands‑on Finance Manager to support and strengthen the finance function at Kinetic Games. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career from a Management Accountant or Junior Finance Manager position into a broader finance role with increased ownership and responsibility. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to help manage core finance operations, support publishing activities, and contribute to the continued growth of the studio. The role will evolve alongside the business as we expand our publishing operations, company structure, and finance processes during our growth phase.
Working Pattern: Hybrid. From approximately September onwards the successful candidate will be expected to attend the Southampton office 1–2 days per week.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Own and manage the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Support audit preparation and act as a key contact during external audits.
- Assist with the setup and implementation of finance processes for new companies/entities.
- Manage publishing finance operations, including purchase orders, invoicing, billing, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and process publishing royalty payments and reporting.
- Oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Manage and monitor departmental budgets within Moss.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow tracking.
- Analyse and reconcile platform revenue across Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and other channels.
- Improve finance processes, controls, and reporting workflows.
- Support finance systems improvements and automation initiatives.
- Work cross‑functionally with publishing, operations, and leadership teams.
- Train, mentor, and support junior finance team members.
- Help scale finance processes and procedures as the company grows.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of month‑end accounting processes.
- Experience supporting audits and managing operational finance tasks.
- Experience with payroll and reconciliations.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and adapt within a growing business.
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members is beneficial.
Nice To Have:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA required.
- Experience within gaming, publishing, SaaS, or digital entertainment industries.
- Experience with royalty accounting or publishing finance workflows.
- Familiarity with Xero, Moss, and financial reporting tools.
- Experience working with multi‑entity businesses.

- Stage 2: Culture interview with Head of Finance & Operations and Finance Assistant. This stage is designed to help us understand how you would fit within the team and wider company culture. Depending on location, we may ask for this stage to take place at our Southampton office, but we remain flexible where possible.
