Tester – Payroll Transformation (Dayforce)

Largely remote, with occasional UK travel for workshops

6-month contract (initial)

We’re working with a high-profile UK household brand undergoing a major payroll transformation, transitioning to Dayforce for approximately 10k+ employees. As part of this programme, they’re looking for an experienced Tester to support the delivery of a high-quality, low-defect payroll solution.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the system meets business needs and compliance requirements, supporting end-to-end testing across multiple workstreams, and helping shape testing strategy and execution for this complex, business-critical programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Business Analysts, SMEs, and Implementation Partners to understand requirements and business rules
• Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for payroll-related functionality
• Coordinate and conduct various levels of testing including functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Identify, document, and track defects, working with technical teams to ensure timely resolution
• Support test data preparation and manage traceability of test coverage
• Participate in planning and status meetings to ensure alignment on testing timelines and deliverables

About You

• Proven experience testing HR or payroll systems (e.g. Dayforce, Oracle, SAP, ADP, etc.) – Dayforce testing experience would be a strong advantage
• Understanding of UK payroll processes, legislation, and compliance requirements
• Experience managing test cycles within large-scale transformation programmes
• Comfortable working remotely with strong self-organisation and communication skills
• Able to attend occasional UK workshops or test phases in person if required
• Experience in larger business environment, Familiar with high employee volumes
